It was all so wonderful. beautiful house, nice little room, well equipped kitchen area, living room, like being at home. The host so welcoming, friendly & helpful. I could even stay at the living area after checkout until the time my train went without additional cost (I offered to pay). I don't think I have experienced something like this before, and I travel a lot...

Lillehammer in winter is enchanting - snow covered, charming shops, lots of people around. Walking the town is very interesting - great views of the river valley, interesting architecture. If you like to cross country ski, this is the Mecca! hundreds of kilometers of ski trails nearby, groomed everyday. I was focused on skiing, then an afternoon walk. There are a couple worthy museums. The Olympic Park is a worthwhile climb above town. Otherwise not much entertainment or other sights.

An awesome place to walk into snowy nature.
An awesome place to walk into snowy nature. I wanted snow in the week before Christmas. I was afraid the town would only be suited for ski enthousiast. That was not the case. I made some nice walks into snowy nature in the forest and countryside in and around town. It wasn’t very crowded.
I came to Lillehammer for some old-fashioned Christmas atmosphere. That’s exactly what it provided. A snowy cute town with lights and music everywhere.
The town is dead though after 6 PM. All shops are closed, only restaurants are opened.

Olympic museum was closed ( probably because it was a Monday). I was very disappointed because that was our main reason for visiting. Town is very walkable. Nice to see Olympic ski jump area. Folk museum was closed due to season. Wish they had signs about Olympic venues. We did not know about luge and bobsled track, guessed where skating venue was. Museum should be open more or have resource info available.

Lillehammer is the perfect place for a little getaway if you fancy a stay in a smaller town (but despite the size, it has it all!). Best for it's magical atmosphere leading up to Christmas and for skiing, but lovely any time of year- especially if you're into wintersports, art or just meandering through one of the nicest towns in the country.

Lillehammer is a charming town. Always love to come back.
Lillehammer is a charming town. Always love to come back. Great for walking (even in the snow). Love Maihaugen and the Olympic museum (the Olympics are why I first decided to visit Lillehammer).
I've been there in summer and winter. Could not pick my favorite season. I think one should experience both!

Nice little town even in the autumn when there’s no skiing.
Nice little town even in the autumn when there’s no skiing. A couple of days worth of interesting sights and walks; culture + nature. What’s not to like?
We recommend the little pancake cafe on the Storgard pedestrian street
very friendly and helpfull staff, they helped us to connect our friezer in the van, gave good information on local restaurants for diner, the breakfast is very complete and relaxed. we were given a quit room away from the reception and lounge area as the was some music planned during the evening in the lounge. we did not even noticed. we hardly recoment this hotel when traveling along the E6 up north. lillehammer is also a very nice town to visit.
Great room (we were offered an upgrade, which we took, to a room with a queen bed), great bathroom, with heated floors and bathtub with shower. Very good bed and heating. Very good breakfast. The hotel was decorated with paintings and furniture in an antique style, and was right near the center of town.
The hotel is located in the most quiet railroadstation I ever visited. We had a nice room at the 3rd floor. At 2nd floor there is a kitchen free to use for the guests ( some could be better to clean after themselves ). One can get vegan and glutenfree food in the cafe.
The best hostel in Norway. Perfect location, no noise disturbance from bus / train, delicious food for breakfast and also at the restaurant for dinner, incredibly kind and helpful staff, super comfy beds and hot showers. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Room was very nicely appointed, staff friendly and extremely helpful. We felt well cared for. Great location. Breakfast was typical European buffet, plenty to eat. We booked same day. It was an excellent value.
I would highly recommend this hotel
This hotel has been nicely renovated and the room we stayed in was of a high standard. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was well-appointed. The tariff included a dinner meal and breakfast. It was quite good value.
It was a lovely cosy house on a real part of Lillehammers residential area. It’s nice to be amongst the local people and not in a hotel with other tourists. We were a few minutes walk to the town or the lake. Perfect
The hotel is in a great spot, in the centre of town. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. In the week before Christmas it was not very crowded. It had a great Christmas vibe. The room was nice and modern.
We loved the general feel and the location above Lillehammer. Large property with very well trained staff who were always helpful and cheerful. It’s nice they offer breakfast and it had a lot of options.
Clean facilities, well equipped modern kitchen, parking places close to the entrance, good location only 15 minutes away by car from Hafjell ski center. But on top of that a really nice and helpful owner
Our stay at Clarion was the first stop in a three week cousins tour of Norway and Denmark. it was the perfect place for us to recover from jet-lag and just relax and get acquainted with Norway.
free parking, fast wifi, super helpful staff at the front desk both in the evening and the morning. free access to the full-size gym one block from the hotel
Hotel is in train and bus station so it was very convenient with luggages and to take buses till ski resorts.
Staff and volunteers were very friendly.!
