Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.
Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.
As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.
Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centers cover everything from name brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you've left enough space in your bags!

Glaswegians are a really friendly bunch. Glasgow is dirty and run down. Transport options are great, though Metro is poor.
Bus connection from Airport was expensive at £10each for a 20 minute journey. Come on Glasgow, places like Barcelona is 4euros for a 45minute airport express.
Lots of graffiti, litter, drunks and general grimy city. Much prefer Edinburgh. Signage to areas very poor. No tourist information boards, more a working city than a tourist one.

I hadn’t been to Glasgow for over 30 years.
I hadn’t been to Glasgow for over 30 years. While it still maintains a gritty working class vibe there has been many improvements to the cultural aspects of the City
For sporting fans who want to enjoy some footie without the hustle and bustle of Rangers or Celtic I recommend an enjoyable visit to the friendly folks at Partick Thistle FC
The people of Glasgow have not changed since I last visited. Extremely friendly and generous. The Pub culture still exists and I highly recommend stops at The Scotia and The Horseshoe. Quality beers on tap and excellent atmospheres
Getting around Glasgow and surrounding areas is super easy. Numerous local bus options and Scot Rail Stations in the City Centre. For those travelling to Edinburgh…use Glasgow Queen Street. Trains run every 15 minutes and take less than an hour

Our bathroom was very grubby the tap in the bath did not work properly so the water coming from the shower was
lukewarm and the tap had very hot water coming from it at the same time so therefore our feet were getting burnt. Don't think the room was worth the money I payed.

I love Glasgow!
I love Glasgow! This was my third very short trip, but I'm definitely going to be heading back for a longer stay at some point. I'll be able to give a better review of the city when I've stayed longer and actually used the cafes and bars. The chippy I went to after the gig was lovely though, although I can't remember the name. It was under a bridge though!

We would recommend the Botanic Garden, the Cathedral,...
We would recommend the Botanic Garden, the Cathedral, Glasgow University, Riverside Museum and Kelvingrove Art Museum. We would recommend to stay max. 2 days in the city not more as Glasgow is an industrial city, not really nice although it has a few nice parts. It has good pubs with live music and good food (for eg. Lauder's). All in all, it is not a city ww would visite more than once.
The way that Clayton hotels had adapted and repurposed a heritage listed building and the linkage between the older and newer parts. Its location was also a selling point overlooking the Clyde and close to the City Centre facilities and Glasgow Central station. Breakfast was well worth it, well prepared with a good selection. The room was broadly good with everything we needed (but see below), good to have an iron, kettle etc.
I love the fact it felt like being at home. The photos shown on this site, is actually what u get nothing deceiving. It's in city centre so walking to shops to buy groceries (or whatever else you wanted to buy) was a breeze and the staff is extremely friendly. Comfortable bed, complete kitchen and living area, what more could you ask for? I highly recommend this place to any traveler visiting Glasgow.
Near the Buchanan Bus Station.
Okay for one night under 50 pounds, twin or double; just to shower and sleep and get ready for airport/bus early the next morning. Otherwise, if higher than 50 and/or the stay is for more than a night, I will definitely choose the other hotels as Glasgow city centre is teeming with hotels left and right.
Everything was perfect. The hot tub was relaxing and the view was amazing. The house so clean and comfy and has everything you need. Gordon helped us with everything we needed even about taxi to go back to Glasgow. Thank you so much Gordon and Susie and definitely will visit again if we come to Scotland.
The hotel is large but rooms were surprisingly quiet, and a very peaceful and comfortable nights sleep was had. Very clean. Modern and contemporary. Location excellent for those wishing to be within walking access of both Glasgow city centre and West End. (city centre 20-30 mins, west end 10 to 20 mins)
Giving it a 10 because I paid £43 for a single room (they gave me a double) for a more than adequate hotel smack in the city centre on an event night. Staff were super friendly, tea & coffee, iron, hairdryer, nice bar area downstairs. All good.
Loved that the hotel was in the heart of Glasgow with lots of restaurants and activities close by. The room was large and up to date. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Lots of options to pick from.
- central location within walking distance of the city centre and railway stations
- really helpful staff
- being allocated a room at the back of the property meant that it was a restful stay even though the hotel is situated in a busy area.
small but functional room, great breakfast, comfortable bed. walking distance to glasgow city centre. we could work from the cafe restaurant at ground floor of the hotel. all day parking near the hotel for 8 euros only
The room was spotless and there was a fridge with complimentary water. The beds were comfortable and it was good having a window that we could open. Hotel is in a nice bit of Glasgow and the bar was lovely.
Room, location and hotel were all lovely. Surrounding neighbourhood is in a nice spot in Glasgow with lots of great bars and restaurants. Tube is just across the road so city centre is easy accessible
Lovely and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
No noise very calm atmosphere.
Would recommend for anyone looking for a hotel in City centre.
Decor unusual but Glasgow themed. Nice touch.
perfect distance from hydro and subway station into Glasgow City Centre. staff were helpful. apart from this I cannot fault this hotel. nice sized rooms. will be staying again in June.
Convenient central location on the river Clyde with Glasgow city centre in walking distance. Very cool looking hotel with very nice design details and generally pleasant decor.
The hotel is ideally situated near the Glasgow Central Railway Station. The city centre is near, too. Our room was nice and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious enough.
