Great location
We would have liked to have had our evening meal there but the choices for meat free were poor tbh so all 4 of us went to the Italian down the road.

Baslow is a fab place.
Baslow is a fab place. It has lots to offer, including The Cavendish Hotel, which is amazing! There are lots of places to eat, with a variety of styles. It is easy to get round Baslow. I don't need to avoid anything in Baslow, it's got everything I like.

A pretty village with a couple of independent shops, restaurants and pubs (can highly recommend the food at the Prince of Wales.) The main attraction is Chatsworth though which is fabulous and never disappoints!
Everything was spotless and really top quality. Loved the little extra touches. Lovely, warm and cosy on a very cold and unexpectedly snowy weekend, with amazing views over the hills.
Just managed a walk into Baslow, and had lunch in the Wheatsheaf before we got a taxi back (to cold for us and our dogs to walk back)
Highly recommend a trip to Chatsworth farm shop ( but make sure you have plenty of money, so many nice things to buy)
Will definitely come back, but in warmer weather so we can go walking over the moors.
Beautiful location, a short stroll from Chatsworth House and a 4 mile walk to Bakewell. An uphill walk to Baslow Edge and the Eagle Stone, a nice circular walk to Grindleford. Three lovely pubs close by. The cottage is spacious with a lovely bath and a great place to sit beside the river with a morning tea. Hosts were great let us park early and brought us milk and bakewell tarts !
Host couldn’t do enough for us, couple of issues which were sorted very quickly and without fuss. Spotlessly clean, and the photos don’t do it justice. Everything we needed was provided and Penny was amazing and so helpful. Close to Chatsworth, can walk there through the beautiful grounds. Very near to our family and has a pub and a shop opposite! What’s not to like?
Easily accessible location in nicely renovated farmhouse on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales with quick access to Sheffield and the peak district. Lovely room, with equally lovely shared bath (except there were not allowing it to be shared due to Coronavirus, so we had to ourselves). Lovely homemade snacks, tea and coffee left for us in the room.
Breakfast was excellent choice of granola followed by a choice of meat, veg or salmon breakfast. Hot drinks and juice were brought to the table. Dinner had a great choice with fine quality ingredients. The location is near the farm shop, but a bit of a walk to the house or short drive. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

This is an exquisite hotel, located near Chatsworth.......you feel like nobility, after visiting Chatsworth and then staying here! It was a superb experience to do both. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff treat you like visiting royalty! We had dinner in the garden room and loved it.
The location was perfect, lots of great walks from the property.
The good choice of pubs, restaurants and shops in Baslow
and a regular bus service on hand to Bakewell and beyond.
